The USGCRP is looking to fill a paid Communications Student Assistant position, located in Washington, DC.

Basic Job Function:

Supports staff in realizing the communication and education objectives of the program, with special emphasis on content creation for the program’s website and outreach materials, assisting with the coordination of interagency meetings and related efforts for climate change communications and education and developing specific outreach tools and resources (e.g., presentations, webinars, videos, etc.).

Hours:

Casual, as needed basis. Up to 20 hours/week during school and up to 40 hours/week during breaks, not to exceed 1000 hours in one 12-month period. Flexible schedule.

Duties Include:

  • Outreach Activities
  • Communication & Education Coordination (Coordination of the Interagency Communication and Education Team)
  • Special Projects as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

Must be currently enrolled in a college, university or professional school; with college level coursework in relevant discipline such as communications, science journalism or environmental policy with advanced studies in relevant disciplines preferred.
