
Victoria Bortfeld
Climate and Health Specialist
Victoria Bortfeld serves as the Climate and Health Specialist for the USGCRP National Coordination Office. In this role, she coordinates the Interagency Crosscutting Group on Climate Change and Human Health and will be point of contact for the human health and air quality chapter of the National Climate Assessment.
Victoria comes to the climate and health space through the lenses of environmental justice, health equity, and community engagement. Her most previous role was at the American Public Health Association, where she championed environmental health and environmental-climate justice initiatives, including coordination of the CDC-funded Advancing Environmental Justice through Technical Assistance Mini-Grants Program. She has also previously worked on global environmental health and sustainable development projects and in the philanthropic sector.
Victoria holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a B.A. in International Studies and English Literature from the University of Michigan.
